Fradette was ranked 4th in the state coming into the tourny and ended up placing third overall. Erik was then defeated by Jake Krier of Byron in the wrestlebacks in a close 6-5 decision. Erik finishes the season with a 16-8 record with 8 falls on the season. He currently has a 54-32 career record with 24 of those by fall. This was Erik's first state tournament appearance.

Another note of interest was that both Montevido and BOLD were seeded ahead of TMB in the team section seedings, but both teams were only able to get 1 state entrant as a section runnerup versus TMB's four entrants with two section champs.

Campbell Has Huge Win in Wrestle-backs
In the quaterfinals, both Colton Evans and Erik Cooreman ran into some stiff competition. Cooreman lost Dave Fradette of Milaca/Faith Christian and Colton Evans lost to Marc Stoll of Perham.

Overall the team wrestled very well on Saturday. We also placed a total of 9 of the 14 in the top six which was also positive. Even more impressive is the fact that a large number of the team has been fighting flu symptoms this past week including all four of the state qualifiers and these kids were able to battle throught it for a great tournament" stated Head Coach Karl Campbell.

All Four will wrestle their first round on Wed evening at 6:00.

Comments on the Tracy Quad with Luverne, Redwood Valley, and Fulda/MCC
Comments from the Lunverne dual. "Luverne is a struggling program with low numbers of kids. Our team took advantage of that. Austin Peterson, Brad Schmidt, Eddie Anderson, and Linch Her each got their first varsity wins. Mike Anderson got his first varsity win of the season." stated Coach Campbell.

Redwood dual. "I felt the kids wrestled hard for the most part. Jared Towne got behind early but came back to get a pin. Aaron Hohler almost scored a fall against one of their better kids in the lower weights but fell short in a 10-6 decision. Noah VanNevel got a pin for his tenth win of the season."

Fulda/MCC dual. "We started strong in the lower weights, but did not have enough depth and experience in the middle to upper weights to stay with one of the better teams in our area. Ian Mariner, Zach Campbell, and Erik Cooreman all went 3-0 on the day. Luke Prairie and Tyler Bauer were each 2-0. Noah VanNevel was 2-1 on the evening."

Our elementary kids has an opportunity to showcase their skills against some of fulda/mcc kids tonight also which is great for our program. Thanks to Mike Coyle and John Carlson, our youth coaches, for organizing this.
